Ready to make friends with your sewing machine? In this beginner-friendly workshop, we’ll take the mystery out of threading, bobbins, machine settings, and sewing your first straight stitches. No experience needed! Bring your curiosity and get ready to sew! Rent a sewing machine from the Scrap or bring your own functional sewing machine to practice on. River will cover the basics, plus tips and tricks for smooth sewing with her 30+ years of sewing experience.

Participants will meet in the Design Center in the Reuse Arts Shop. When you arrive at The Scrap Exchange, you may park in the side lot where you'll see some buses, the entrance to Oak Church, and the entrance to Insight Co-Learning School. There will be white double doors labeled DESIGN CENTER - please enter through those. See you soon!
