Is “Used” a Bad Word? Rethinking Reuse at The Scrap Exchange

If I say the word “used,” what sort of concepts, what sort of images pop in your minds? I think kind of a negative connotation.

Used is something that has been loved, that has helped someone and has potential to help someone new and can continue to be loved.

At The Scrap, the way we’ve put used, use, and reused kind of at the center of the equation. For now three and a half decades, we’ve been flipping that narrative in an incredibly creative, quirky, fun way.

To me, The Scrap Exchange is an organization which has been flipping that narrative in an incredibly creative, quirky, fun way. It’s an incredible thing and I’m really honored to be part of it and be part of its next generation, its next vision.
