Franklin St. ends when it hits Belt St, with entrances to several parking lots. We’re in the large brick building across the central parking lot from the redeveloped Golden Belt building.
Please be careful to not get towed!
Visitors to The Scrap Exchange must NOT park in unmarked spaces or spaces with a red “R” in the main, paved parking lot. You will be towed!
The safest place to park is the gravel lot at the end of Belt Street with the metal PARK sculpture at the entrance.
If you do park in the central, paved parking lot, park only in spaces marked Reserved for CC&W. Spaces with a red R and unmarked spaces in that lot belong to Golden Belt/Scientific Properties. These spaces are NOT to be used by Scrap Exchange patrons, and Scientific Properties has begun towing cars. Please don’t get towed!

From I-40 (Raleigh) to Highway 147/Durham Freeway North
Take I-40 West to Highway 147 North (Durham Freeway). Take Exit 11 NC-55/Alston Ave. At the light at the exit ramp, turn right onto NC-55/Alston Ave. Go about half a mile on Alston Ave. Turn left on Franklin Street, which is the third street after the light at Main Street. Franklin Street ends at the Golden Belt Complex. Please see above for information about parking.

From Highway 147/Durham Freeway South
Take Exit 11 NC-55/Alston Ave. At the light at the exit ramp, turn left onto NC-55/Alston Ave. Go about half a mile on Alston Ave. Turn left on Franklin Street, which is the third street after the light at Main Street. Franklin Street ends at the Golden Belt Complex. Please see above for information about parking.

From I-85/North Durham
Take I-85 to exit 177 (US 15-501 Business/Roxboro St.) toward NC-55/Avondale Dr/Downtown. Go straight until the light at Avondale. Turn right onto Avondale Ave. After about half a mile, take a slight right to turn on Alston Ave/NC-55. Continue on Alston Ave/NC-55 for just over a mile. Take a right on Franklin Street, which is the second right after the light at Taylor Street. Franklin Street ends at the Golden Belt Complex. Please see above for information about parking.

From South Durham
Take NC-55 (Alston Ave) toward downtown Durham. About half a mile after NC-147, turn left on Franklin Street, which is the third street after the light at Main Street. Franklin Street ends at the Golden Belt Complex. Please see above for information about parking.

From Chapel Hill
Take 15-501 Business to Durham; stay on 15-501 Business past South Square. Turn left on University Drive, which turns into Lakewood Drive. After about 1.5 miles on University/Lakewood, turn left on S. Roxboro St.. After about half a mile on Roxboro, take a right onto E. Main St. Just past Fayetteville/N. Elizabeth St., turn left onto Morning Glory Ave to go into the Golden Belt complex. Turn right to stay on Morning Glory. Go one block and turn left on Belt Street.
